  • Bros caliper bolt torque spec?

Hi all, I’ve split my Bros front brake caliper for a rebuild but can’t find a torque spec for the 4 torx bolts that hold it together. Obviously all the usual Hawk GT info sources don’t cover this difference with the Bros. Can anyone help with an information source? Thanks!

really good, I need to up my game, as for the torque, on idea, I just tighten them tight, bearing in mind the threads are into aluminium so do not over do it.

        Bros Steve - you legend!

They had so much loc-tite on them I couldn't believe how hard they were to undo! Someone has had them apart before. 15 Nm makes sense as it's an aluminium body like yorkshire said.

Just got to wait for the new pistons now... because the last monkey used loose vice grips with sharpened teeth to pull them out

Happy to help. I've got quite a bit of info on the Bros if you or anyone else needs it.

Heat usually helps with fasteners like these, it releases the loctite and also helps with releasing any corrosion bond. Better than risking spoiling the bolt heads getting them out.

Acetone is great for removing Loctite just as an aside. There’s an Allen Key on my BM that they smoothered in the stuff and pre-treating with Acetone is the only way to remove !
