I want to refinish the clutch and stator covers and adjust the valves on my '88 Hawk. In general, are any of those gaskets reusable? Thanks!

The valve cover gaskets are normally reusable.

You can reuse the valve cover gasket, no problem.
The clutch cover gasket and alternator gasket might be reusable if you don't damage them during removal, but it's better to throw a fresh one.
You don't want to do all the hard work only to discover that you have a leak afterwards.👍 1Comment

I usually grease the paper gaskets - give them a smear on both sides. As long as the engine mating faces are unspoiled, this seals up fine and the gaskets can be reused. I only use a sealant on metal to metal joints. I'm not sure but it may be that the grease helps to maintain a seal by keeping the paper supple. Anyway, it works fine in my experience. Also helps to prevent silicon pieces going into the oil and clogging up the motor.Comment
