  • NT 650 Deauville Rear Header Compatable?

    Hiya folks,

Does anyone know if an NT650 Deauville Rear Header is compatible with the Hawk? The Deauville options can get here to Cali much faster than the Hawk options. Thanks!

I'm assuming you are talking about a system like Black Widow sells or are you talking OEM parts? Hard to say either way. If it is the aftermarket stuff send the seller an email and ask. Not a lot of guys here have taken Deauville parts to try on a Hawk I suspect is the major obstacle. If they have a decent return policy it might be worth it to buy and try. I would be interested to know personally. The Black Widow system looks like a nice basic system and I know a few people on the facebook group have been grousing about not being able to get a M4 or TBR system and have brought up the Delkevic options but I am not sure they are a good option overall because of the way their mid-pipe connection looks.

FWIW I sent a message to Black Widow but no telling when they will answer (or if for that matter). We'll see. Maybe here in a month I will buy a system as an experiment. It might be a better starting point then absolutely nothing and I will have spare time and money to poke the hornets nest and see.

        Hey there! Missed this somehow!

I was actually just talking about a straight-up OEM rear header.

Welp, I got my answer by accident. I bought what I thought was an OEM 1991 Hawk rear header off eBay. Turns out I bought a 1998-2001 Deauville Rear Header. Pro Tip: Don't buy motorcycle parts using your phone. Because 1998-2001 can seemingly easily become 1988-1991 when you're looking at small type.

Imagine my surprise when the header came up one inch shorter than the front header (although it did mount properly!). Currently trying to form a slip-on adapter from the old shredded pipe while I hold my hat out begging for someone to sell me a rear header in various motorcycle forums.

So for your experiment ahead, you now know ahead of time that an OEM Deauville exhaust pipe comes up one inch shorter than a Hawk exhaust pipe. Let me know how it turns out if you go forward!

When you say it comes up one inch short I'm trying to draw a mental picture how but I'm just not seeing it. I'd be curious for a better explanation of what the shortfall is if you care to offer one.

Interesting. I am guessing now that the black widow setup might actually be an interesting test piece then. I was worried it was not fitting up to the head properly. Thanks for the picture. It always helps when you do not have to imagine what is going on.

              Much appreciated.

I was thinking at this point maybe he could get a front deauville header but not sure what rear parts he is planning for the exhaust so not sure what that will mess up.

When I did my exhaust, actually cut the stock headers that short.
