  • UNI foam air filter part number?

Anyone know the UNI part number for the foam filters that fit the Hawk? I bought a pair from Hordpower but threw out the package, and doing a lookup on the UNI site doesn't show anything for the Hawk, so I'm guessing it's one of the universal ones. With my Ducati 916 tank, the rear filter gets squished by the bottom of the tank by about half the normal height, and I'm guessing that's probably causing a restriction. So I'm thinking of replacing that one with a shorter one but am trying to find the spec so I can get the same one, just shorter.

Depends on if you want the straight ones or angles ones like for snowmobiles. These are the angles ones. They fit under the tank better without being smashed. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0022UOHUA...v_ov_lig_dp_it
88 Blue Hawk GT - Under construction but rideable (guest approved)
89 BlackHawk 2.0 - On the lift and being assembled
90 Hawk GT (color as to yet be determined) - Still on the shelf in crates

Cool. I guess I didn't bother scrolling down to look at other options: https://unifilter.com/online-catalog...n-air-filters/

The snowmobile ones say not for dirt because of the coarse foam, but they do make the angled ones in dual layer. Now to take a closer look to see what that 15 degree angle buys me and if I still need to go shorter or if I can go full height.

I'm not riding my hawk on dirt but if you are using them on something that is on dirt then perhaps it really is an issue.

I have no idea if it's an issue, just the fact that they're saying it won't trap dust has me worried. l don't use K&N air filters for the same reason.

Besides, the dual layer is the same price, so why not.

My understanding was the filter holds the oil which actually traps the dirt particles. I could be mistaken, but I guess if the dual layers are the same sure, I would go with that. I already had the SA versions though.

I put the uni oil on mine - haven't seen much accumulation of junk on the filters. Heck, the FCRs run open... Unless there is desert riding or something else extremely harsh, I doubt it is an issue.

I'm also guilt of not oiling mine for a while now but mostly because my shit has been sitting on the left for way too long. About to remedy that though and once I do I'll oil them up. I just didn't see the need until I ride it more than a test ride.
