    An easy stupid question

I have an 88 model Hawk. The rear rotor is warped and it makes an otherwise completely fun bike a pain in the arse. I got the new rotor and removed the tire to find that I'm going to need to remove the hub in order to replace the rotor (as far as I can tell). I'm not intimate with the single side swingarm and hub assembly. Is that big nut on sprocket a reverse thred? and are there any tips or tricks to making this process easier?

    WOW!
Now that's what I call help. Thank you very much for the great info and service manual to boot. you guys RAWK

Yes. To romove the spindle, the big nut near the sprocket is the one to remove. It is a normal thread (I'm pretty sure) but is is torqued to 120ft-lbs and staked. You will need a 46mm socket (ideally) or an inch equivalent. It helps to have a helper hold the bike steady and put weight on the rear brake pedal. Dont forget to un-stake the nut, it will come off easier. You will likely break the tip off of your small slotted screwdriver doing this, unless anyone else knows a better tool for the job.
    -Good Luck.
-I'm sorry....I did not know she was your sister.
-If Buckleys cold mixture went rancid......how would anybody know????
-Dont piss off the quiet guy with the chain saw.

Thanks for the manual. It maybe should be a sticky post.
