  • Head Gaskets Bros400L

    Hi Guys,

Hope all is well, Wondering if anyone here has bought a new set of head gaskets for the 400L model and could share a store I could buy them from.I Had a nice surprise on my bike when I pulled the head and found the heads were bolted to the cylinders using a cracked gasket and RTV.

I have searched, far and wide and cannot find anything. I have managed to send Webike-Japan a mail and they are searching for me as well, but I need a backup plan. One thing I also noticed is that the 400 J&K models have a different Part number than the L model. Does anyone know if there is truly a difference?

    Cheers Don

    Hi mate,

I believe you're in China too, I'm in Shanghai, what about you?
First time I hear about J, K or L models, I'm not sure what difference does this make. I don't even know what letter my bike is, I just know it's a Bros400.

Anyway, a few months ago while rebuilding my engine I planned on replacing my head gaskets. As you know, it's quite difficult to find parts here... I ordered a few gaskets from taobao but none fitted at all... so what I did was to take a picture of the old gasket and then model it in my 3D software. Plan was then to simply ask a laser cutting service on taobao so that they could cut me a few gaskets for cheap out of some 0.3mm sheet metal.
But then I decided to reuse my old gaskets that were still fine after a bit of cleaning, so I never really went through the whole process.

So what I propose you is that you try and download the 3D file I made at the time, then I suggest you 3D print it and make a test fit to make sure everything's fine, because as I said I havent really tested anything since I changed plans. If it's ok, then you can order a gasket from a laser cutting company and everything should be well.
If it's not fitting well or if you need a few modifications in the design, then just contact me and I'll help you make the mods, in case you don't know how to use a 3D software.

    Here's the editable file:

And here is the file ready to be 3D printed:

    Have a nice day!

      Hi Bud,

Yip, In Guangzhou. I learned on this thread mostly about the differences and then some searches on Google about the different models, Whilst I truly cannot find any information on engine changes or specs besides the L model i believe having the PGM ignition and a throttle sensor on the carb, it seems mostly the difference is the larger 18" wheel and the 3 spoke vs the J&K 6 spoke rims.

Thank you for this info, If I will give this a try if i don't succeed with the guys in Japan.

Hi, I believe the big difference with the PGM model is the oil feed to the cylinder head is internal as apposed to an external pipe.

I hope this is useful, although it does show external oil pipe.

If you send an email to this shop with your engine and frame number they should be able to give you the model designation.
