Yep. That way of mounting originated the “clubman” bars in the UK . The headlight ears occupied
the top of the fork tubes; so no room to move clip ons down. Mounting upside down
was a work around. Then they started making bars for specifically doing that..

I was just being funny. Ive been around here a while now guys Anywho! Bars are fine. Bit of loosen and retighten was all they needed. My sweet new Tyga seat is slick as ice! Had a terrible ride. Got to figure that one out now. 20190625_195100.jpg

I think thats what mine is Bill. I That or zx-9. Sabrinas gonna need one though. I was noticing ones for the hornet, 919, and 03-05 z1000 all look like good candidates too.

This started in another thread with SPA but, fueling hasnt been perfect ever, so this morning I removed the carbs and got out my Factory Pro instructions again. These are the same setting ive seen Hordpower recommend...

168 Fr 162R 42P needle 4w/UNI. I missed this. I just saw "usual range 2-4" so I went with 3. Screws 2.5 out and lastly springs baked at 8". I baked mine last time but came up a little short (I was at 7 1/4).

So after a long ride I have to say, throttle response is beautiful. I still had some of the same issue of a stumble around 7k rpm probably when really leant over. About to go get some springs for the fuel line just to rule out them pinching as an issue.

It is probably a 50% improvement there while again, throttle response feels perfect. Given things generally got better all around when raising the needle, should I try going up on the pilots? One little thing at a time I suplose.

Besides that, my other issue is popping on decel. Really dont like this. Is this a pilot or mixture screw issue? Heres a mod list again since for some reason, not everyone has read my now 28 page thread!

Popping on decel could be air cut off
                valves.

The reason I mentioned bonified vacuum hose is we have seen ( regular hose intended for outward pressures like heater hose fuel line etc.

pulse inward ( not sure if you'll actually see it ) but it " "can" send a weaker pulse to the pump as the hose effectively absorbs some of the pluse every time it flexes inwards. Just spitballing here.

Ya'll were bang on with the air cut off valves. Fixed her right up. Just raised the needles back to 3. Was feeling a little heavy today. I think its too rich at 4. I worked around the tygon situation with some baling wire. Wrapped it around a 6" 3/8 extension. Stretch to length. Worked perfect. Making progress, just need more seat time. Thanks for everyones help.

I dont really seem to be getting anywhere with this unfortunately. Everything else is getting better throttle response and fueling wise but not this particular issue. The only thing I havent tried is the position of my Mikuni but I dont think its a fuel supply issue honestly. My issues are immediate like right in the middle of the corner when I pick the throttle back up. If I was pinching a line or something I wouldn't feel it immediately because there is still fuel in the float bowls. That's my figuring at least. The needle is definitely better in position 3 but still the issue, so I decided to up the Main Jet. 168/162 to 170/165. Not a lot of difference here honestly. I have discovered I can replicate it under one other condition which is sustained 3/4 throttle, like for several seconds in the the top of 3rd or 4th. Just like my mid corner issues its when you close the throttle then begin to pick it up again. I can maintain throttle position and it will stutter and spit through it just the same. Its just so strange cause if anyone were to just get on the bike and go for a test ride you would never think there was a thing wrong. Rips through the gears great, minor throttle inputs, low speed, fueling is beautiful.

Mid range hole? What's the pipe header combo?

Forgot to mention I replicated results with the gas cap open. Also if I didn't mention it before, It just probably above 6k, doesn't seem to be an issue if say Im a gear higher than I would normally be for that given corner. Maybe I went the wrong way with the jet? I just figured going up since the heads are so worked over but I am doing this at elevation probably 2500-3500 above sealevel. I guess ill try going smaller on the jets next? I really havent noticed a difference affecting the issue between raising and lowering the needle or changing the jet.

Its only when I start riding at a decent trot in the mountains. Higher rpms right in the middle of the corner when Im going from maintenance throttle to getting back on the gas. It just feels like I need to switch to reserve. But if im lazy with it and use the torque, not really at or above 6k probably, its fine. If im in a straight line its fine. Besides what I mentioned above. So if I dont calm down my riding it will sputter and die. Wait a few seconds it starts back up again. If I slow the pace down it will sputter through it fine. Pick up the pace again, right in the middle of the corner, spits and goes feels like its dying goes back to normal, rinse repeat. Everyday riding you'd never know. Full first gen 2 Bros system FYI.
