  • My version of a 2021 Hawk

Some of you may have seen my post on Facebook but for the old school guys that are dedicated to the forum I wanted to share with you guys as well.

Here is my version of the Hawk. I bought this used 1990 Hawk back in 1998 and decided it was time for an updated look. If you guys remember J.D. parted out his beautiful blue Hawk with the 700cc motor, well I bought the motor from him and it all just snowballed from there. I wanted to keep the original style but make it look like Honda did a 2021 version of it. It took me a little over a year to get it this point. Every inch of the bike has been touched. Btw I added 3 inches of leg room between the 1 inch drop plates I made and raising the seat 2 inch. Also I had it painted the original red which is the only thing I didn't do myself. It's so comfortable to ride now and handles like a dream. So here it is.

I love it! We'd like a list of specifics on the tank, seat, and special bits.

Perhaps one of the moderators can up your pic count.

This is an outstanding build, more pics would be greatly appreciated.

        Congrats on getting it right!

This forum is entirely dedicated to wasting time and money modifying a slow motorcycle. - joel

Nothing like a project to keep you busy, slowly draining funds out of the wallet! - spacetiger

Our Hawks have all the power any mature, sensible rider can use on any street or highway without carrying around excessively unnecessary big-bore weight and power - squirrelman

Bike builds can be and most time are art and expression. To take something mass produced and impersonal and make something personal that you can't stop staring at as you walk away. There is nothing I find more satisfying than looking at something cool and beautiful and thinking "I made that". - 6

That seat and tank look like they were made for each other.

Even in a new post? Pics per post are limited, but you should just be able to do multiple posts and get them in. If not tell me the error and ill look into it.

                    Very cool. Nicely done!

Also... not being on FB doesn't have to be about being old school. For some people it's just: FUCK FACEBOOK!

                    Truly appreciate you sharing though.

Very nice. Any legacy from Hord is good genetics. Late model Duc saddle /5 spoke Brembo wheels....LSL urban headlight.....all good stuff.

I think you can only do five per post but you can add a new comment and post 5 more. Not the most proficient way to get it done but if you have google photos you can usually just right click, copy, and then right click to past them in the comment box.

                          Looks great.

There was so much raw potential behind the overall Hawk concept as evidenced by all the track bikes that were created using the original Hawk foundation.

Sweet! I can see where you mounted the rectifier and love how you shaved off the bottom flange of the tank where the stock seat normally rests against. Did you just remount the tab? I'm interested in seeing what you did with the subframe to accommodate the monster tail. Do you have pics with the seat off?
