  • Raffle Hawk

This was donated by Asphalt Pilot ; many thanks, and was great to meet you! The plan is to refurbish it, then raffle it off, with the proceeds going to keep the forum alive for years to come. Spent my lunch break inventorying what’s needed, and I’ll see what I have in the stash. Stay tuned for updates!

I've spent most of my money on women, beer, cars and motorcycles. The rest of it I just wasted.

One downside is there’s no paperwork, and I’m not keen on dealing with NYDMV, so we will have to figure something out, but the winner will get a bill of sale at a minimum.

Using a none title state to get a registration and a Bill of sale will allow most folks to then get a title if needed or re-register in their state/province.

Glad I was able to help! It needs a *lot* of work, of course - I hope the extra parts come in handy. Good luck!

Anyone can register it in VT as well. No need to live there.

ALso if you know someone in NH and don't mind spending the registration fees and waiting a few weeks you can get a title.

If VT title situ doesn't work out - What if I donate a bitchin' titled Swingarm and frame? Probably should hold onto this but I think it will just collect dust.

Thanks for the offers of assistance, I’m thinking either NH or VT will work.

CT also works. You can title old bikes pretty easily here.

Not to threadjack, but forced to move shop in July. Some projects for others and personal parts stashed are getting shipped to their respective homes ahead of that so they don’t get lost.l, final Hawk purge included.

Something was jammed in the tank lock, so I drilled it out and broke out the pieces. I’ve got a spare I can put on. Tank has a lot of surface rust but I don’t see scaling. Going to test it to see if there are any leaks.

Got the rear fender solidly mounted, reconnected some of the wiring. Mounted the helmet lock. No carbs, so there was a bit of crud down the intakes, so vacuumed them out and hit it with pb blaster. Pulled the plugs, rears didn’t look bad but fronts were brand spanking new. Dripped a little oil into the cylinders while I had them out. There was no oil or filter, so added those.

Continued to inventory what’s needed, then started a pile from the stash.

Chuck, where is this build now? Still dismantling /sorting or planning? What will you work on first ... frame? ... engine? ... Suspension?
I’m looking forward to this. Please post pics as you go.

Still sorting out, inventorying parts needed. Will hook a battery up and make sure she turns over before I go too far.
