    Hey all!

Like some of the others, I just stumbled onto the site a couple of days ago. I've been riding Hawks since about 91'. My current hawk is a 1989 with about 28k miles. Before that, I had an 88 Hawk that I bought new in 1991. Like the rest of you, I can't get enough riding in my life. I've owned other bikes, but I always come back to the Hawk.

I just recently had my rear stock shock finally give up the ghost so I ordered a new Penske from J.D. Hord's shop. It took me almost a month to get over the sticker shock, but I finally decided that I loved riding my Hawk more than I love the $700. I guess this means I'll keep this one indefinately.

Hopefully I can add to the mix.

Welcome! Good to have long time owners around here to help us new comers out

      Welcome to the site!

So was it worth the $700?
What exactly happened to the stock shock?
I still have the stock shock on my '89 w/ 56,000 miles,
so i have been looking to upgrade, but I do not notice any problems
      with the stock.

Stock shocks are just too spongy, man... at least set up a CBR900RR shock! The Fox shock for Hawks isn't made anymore, but I've heard good things about Wilburs shocks.

I'm putting in a 1997 900RR shock (pre-1995 gives you a higher ride height than stock, but I often take a passenger, and I'm forward enough with the clipons), this spring. Steve Lenac's hooking me up with the setup. The shock itself only cost me $50 on eBay. Not a Penske, but I'm a newbie, so that'll do nicely.

          Welcome, again, to the forums.
I am jealous of your rear shock..I bet it is DAMN nice!!
I have been shopping a little for a pre 95 900rr shock because I like the look of the tail being raised up a little more...
Anyway, nice to see so many people signing up for the forums. Im loving it.

Looks like we have two BOTS - Tiktizpaw & Subworkif, both from the same IP address. Soul, let's get them out of here.
