    Greetings from Stumptown...

    Hi All,

I've been hanging around here (and over on the list) for just over a month now and thought that I would finally check in. I found my Hawk here on the forum and have spent the past month getting it running again, and when I wasn't wrenching on it I was polishing it. I've already learned quite a bit (I've become very efficient at removing and re-installing carburetors), but I also realize that I have a LOT more yet to absorb.

This Hawk is my first road bike - I've only wanted one ever since they first came out back in '88 (and a blue one at that). As you can see - I'm pretty much gunning for the "Factory Stock" look.

Thanks to all of you who participate in making this such a great forum.

    All the best,
    Guth

welcome. and you Hawk looks like it just popped out of the factory

I wish mine still looked like that
What was the start of all this?
When did the cogs of my Hawk begin to turn?
Perhaps it is impossible to grasp the answer now,
from deep within the flow of time...

But, for a certainty, back then,
I loved it so much, yet hated so many.
I hurt others and was hurt myself...

Yet even then, I rode like the wind,
    whilst my laughter echoed
    under cerulean skies...
