    Former Hawk owner.

I used to own an '88 Hawk and truly loved the bike. I've been without a bike for about two years (sold my '92 Gixxer 1100 prior to relocating to WV) and have been thinking about buying another one - a Hawk seems like a pretty good idea.

    Hey Derek

It was the same to me - got one, sold it and after a couple of years I now got a new Hawk to rebuild.

Buy one - it's worth it

    bye, Marcus

Welcome Derek. I'm the original owner of mine. Bought in 1989 as a leftover. I was gawking at the CB-1 at the time but a buddy just had to say "Hey Mark, what about this one?". I spun around and he was looking at the Hawk on the showroom floor. He doesn't even ride and the rest is history!

Every time I mumble something about maybe selling my Hawk, my wife smacks me into shape! "You can't sell the Hawk!"

Those episodes pass quickly. I still really enjoy riding it!!

Thanks guys for the warm welcome! I don't have any photos of my Hawk or CBR but I do have a few of my Gixxer still hanging around.

Well for one I like to use the power of the bike,
2nd I got a PC 800 that I have been useing it gets like 40 mpg and gixxer gets around 20

nothing wrong with the bike. I love it but cant see it being good for me in the long term I can see it getting me in trouble with the law ect....

Mine was downright scary fast for an older air-cooled Gixxer and loads of fun in the twisties. Well, challenging would be a better way to put it and hanging with modern 600's and such up at Bogus Basin was always a hoot. The only real shortcoming were the brakes - I just couldn't get rid of the spongy brakes and had to be especially careful with them.

If I can't find a good Hawk, I would always go back to a Gixxer.

its a VERY scary thing when the lines on the road become soild.......... atleast (to me) my brakes fell great
