going to buy a hawk

hi eveyone, new to the forum...
i'm going to see a black hawk today and 90% sure that i'm going to get it. The bike is from a driving school, and they use that hawk as well as other bikes for the final road exam. This would be my 1st bike and I would like to know what to look for during my inspection of the bike(in terms of the general problems that the hawks are known to have).
what questions can I also ask?
I would hate to ruin my 1st experience buy making silly mistakes, so any help will be appreciated.

the instructor wanted 6000$$$ in the end. Same day, i found a 1989 with 68000km. picked it up for 2600$ CDN. It came with a supertrapp and the original exhaust.

I guess that makes me a proud owner a HAWK!
