Welcome, and the search function works really well - use it.

But we'll no doubt still help you with any repetitive and "stupid" questions that you may have about the venerable Hawk.

I need to do another one since the bike doesn't look quite the same after I've installed the Vapor and a different colored front fender off of another CBR 1000 RR.

Anything in particular you'd like to see or hear?

Hey there, new to the site - bought a bros nt400 j about two months ago and loving it (much more impressed with it than the CG125 I had before!) Amazed by the amount of stuff there is on here. Really useful!

Hi I just bought a 1989 Honda Hawk and it was running great the first day and I put 87 octane gasoline in it and it was bogging and feeling like it was running on one cylinder. I emptied the tank and put 93 octane in it. It seems to be running hot now. Anyone know what octane to use and what would cause the engine to bog? Thanks, sean

Go out and buy some seafoam from your nearest auto parts store and follow the direcitons for the in the gas application. This might help your bogging issue lots or just a little bit but for an under $5.00 solution don't pass this one up.

                          Howdy Y'all

Howdy folks. I used to be quite active on the HawkGT.com list, but it seems to be totally inaccessible to me now. What the hell happened to it, and how can I get back on? I can't seem to find that out anywhere.

Anyways, I've got two hawks and will attempt to post pics right now. Both are lovely. Third bike is an Aprilia Futura (for the long distance/cold weather stuff.)

I just moved to Hanover, NH (from Pittsburgh, PA), so if anyone knows the local Hawksters, an intro would be swell.

                          Cheers,

                          Cyrus

I'm looking for a first bike, and I really like the hawk. Any advice would be most welcome - especially if you know of a good hawk for sale near me .

I did have a few questions:
                                1) Am I even correct that the hawk makes a good first bike? From my understanding, it's reliable, (relatively) mechanically simple i.e. easy to work on, handles extremely well, isn't too light or too heavy, and has about the right amount of power. Am I misinformed?
                                2) I'm somewhat mechanically inclined, but I'm certainly no master mechanic. Is this a bike that I could learn how to work on myself for the most part?
                                3) Any hawk-specific things I need to be aware of when I'm looking at a bike to buy?
                                4) Are there any riders near me? I just moved to Richmond from Michigan, I only know the people at my job and I haven't met anyone who rides.
