Seeing that I am now a full-fledged/dues-paying member , can I ask some advice from you Hawk owners?

I remember riding a friend's Hawk several year's ago (when I had a Yamaha FZR 1000), but don't remember much about the ride, power, agility, etc. I've got a pretty good line on what looks like a well-kept Hawk close to me (doesn't run--dead battery), but I'm concerned about the size/power of the bike (or lack thereof). I'm 5'9" and go about 200#. Should I be concerned? I'm afraid I'll look and feel like a gorilla trying to ride a turtle
I'm 5'10" and 175#. Remember it's a v-twin, not a four (low-end torque!). The legroom is a little tight compared to larger bikes, but still very comfortable, and the power is spot-on for dealing with traffic, etc. The power's not overwhelming, but it comes on real low, and while it falls off when you hit 110mph, it's readily accessible anywhere below that speed. Point and squirt, as they say. And the best part is that if you find yourself in need of extra power mid-corner, you can almost always just grab a handful without worrying about overdoing it. It just digs in and does exactly what you wanted. The way the Hawk makes power is what makes it so easy to ride (fast OR slow).

I'm a newb here but a longtime Hawk owner.
My bike is pretty much stock and I bought it new back in '90.

I'll post up some pics soon but I can't do it from work since photobucket is blocked here.

I look forward to gathering more information about the bike and meet fellow Hawk owners.

I'm in So Cal, Lake Elsinore to be exact.
Years ago I searched around for a Hawk forum and the only thing I really found was Hawkring or something like that.
I'm on a few car forums and just recently decided to search again and found this place.
Looks like a cool place to hang out and check out some nice Hawks.

            Here's a pic of mine.

I'll post up others in the Member's Rides section.

I used to have a KX back a few years ago but I haven't had a dirt bike for awhile now.
Since I don't have a truck I never really pressed getting another dirt bike.

But I'm on the north side of LE so we're not too far from each other.
Nice to find another Hawk fan so close.
I've been the only rider my Hawk has ever seen.

I forgot to check the tire size when I was home last night but I'll check it out tonight.

EDIT: My tire sizes are F 120/70/17 and R 160/70/17

finally got a picture of me "with" the bike, this was taken on New Year's day for a small article about me running the track crash truck. its also the day I discovered I had a brake issue.
