    Hi folks

I bought this Bros 650 two weeks ago, it starts and runs fine but needs recommissioning due to standing for years.

It's a Japanese home market bike and original colour was Graphite Blue metallic. I'm going to restore it over the next six months and get it UK registered.

    Cheers all

Welcome aboard. I've always lusted for the Bros metallic headlight bucket.

But I am always insecure when responding to anyone from Scotland, because I am a member of Clan Campbell, and they might be Clan MacDonald. Cheers!

    Keep us posted with photos.

      Hi Ricksax,

      Thanks for the welcome buddy.

I went for the Bros as it has such a great build quality, mine is puzzling some bits are very good and others poor on it, but the engine is a peach and the bike generally rust free inc the tank.

I'm an incomer from the south but i find the Scots very tolerant and welcoming, its a great place to live....generally we are all united here!

Welcome. My bike had been left to stand for a few years luckily in a shed so hardly any rust

If its stood for a while take carbs off and use a whole can of carb cleaner to blow any crud out. Then change fuel pipes they will probably have the consistency of Blackpool rock.

              Welcome aboard.
You have a very nice start for a great bike!
It looks very unmolested all the way down to the stock rear fender assembly.

Thanks for all your messages of welcome, much appreciated folks.

I am looking forward to doing my Bros, at the moment though i am working on a Suzuki GT750K triple two stroke . I did think about starting on my Bros but then there would be a garage full of the bits of two bikes at once and parts are sure to get lost....

Welcome, I’m waiting for my Hawk to turn up as currently it’s coming through Dutch and UK customs. I anticipate the same work will be required as yours.

Not quite the thing in these days of bad high carbon emissions but a 1972 is exempt from the emissions tests....

Yes, for me an engine out is needed to paint the crankcases, i am going to fully restore it and have been buying bits to do it already. Like a CBR600F3 / FT front forks so I can use the tubes in the Bros legs. I also got myself a genuine Honda manual from the states.
