As you get older you realize that some of the things that you owned in the past were the best because of the memories associated with them. I first bought an 1989 Hawk as a new leftover in 1991. I worked at a motorcycle shop in Jacksonville, NC and taught MSF Courses at the community college. Early in my marriage I convinced my new bride that she should learn to ride. After completing the course and obtaining her license, we decided that she needed her own bike. Her first new bike being the Hawk, she rode it everywhere and always returned with a grin from ear to ear. The notoriety of being a woman rider in that era excited her. She rode that bike for three years until the pregnancy made it uncomfortable to ride. After our son was born, it was a little while before she wanted to ride again. Unexpectedly she wanted a flashier and faster bike, the 1994 Honda CBR 600 in red, white and blue. Unfortunately reality and maternal instincts reared their ugly head and the motorcycle had to go. I was allowed to continue to ride and purchase newer and faster bikes at will. Every year for the last 25 years all I ever heard was, "I shouldn't have sold my Hawk!" For the last three years I have been trying to find a good one to give to her again. It has been found and we are now here.
