Acting was great, director did a wonderful job and chose great actors, and it is based on a true story.
For just a sec I thought another Greek joined the forum . I'm gonna watch it tomorrow but I was told that it 's a complete propaganda against IRAN . Also I don't know if it is told in the movie but besides the 300 Spartans there were also 700 from Thespies and 300 fighters from Thiva ....

    cheers

I thought it was a great movie just for the cinematography, I would definately go see it in IMAX. As for the propaganda at least over here I doubt the average american would even realize that Iran is present day persia.

Just got back from the film . Better than I expected and accurate in a general historic way . Of course there are is an excess regarding the Persian army but I can live with that .... Go check it out .

Next movie I am very much willing to see is "Sunshine " by the directror of "28 days later" .

      cheers

Edit : the most hillarious thing about 300 is the translation of Thermopilae to " Hotgates" .It actually means hot gates but it was rather stupid to do such a
translation . Imagine for example George Bush to be referd in a greek newspaper as Georgios (George in greek ) Thamnos ( greek for bush) .

"Fox Searchlight is developing a sequel to 28 Days Later, the Danny Boyle-directed horror film that became a fall hit in 2002, reports Variety. The trade says that the tentative title is 28 Weeks Later and that the studio is in talks with Rowan Joffe (BBC's Last Resort) to write the script.

Boyle is not expected to direct the sequel, though he and screenwriter Alex Garland likely will take producing roles alongside the first film's producer, Andrew Macdonald "

An add where ? In a cinema ?

Watched it in DVD a few days ago . Nice one, although predictable and with no clear end . If you liked the first one you surely gonna like this one ...

i have seen both now as well

cinamatography in 300 was unique, the fighting was gorry

28 weeks - i agree predictiable but ok.

a movie i watched the other day that i liked Death Proof
its a Quintin Tarantino tribut movie to all the old cheesy 70's car chase movies of that time.

i love how a bot can start a lasting thread.

Did you watch " The Hostel" ? The reviews were hard on it and I was discouraged to go to the cinema . I'll check out "Death Proof " as I 'm a fan of Quentin's work .I had a great time with the "The Host" , a korean film about a giant killer squid creating havoc in a riverside city .Lots of fun

you gotta respect 300 regardless of wether it had propaganda in it or not because of the way they filmed/edited the whole movie, it was intense beginning to end because of the cinematography of it.

as for 28 weeks later, you cant do a sequel to a movie so ground breaking and original, i would dare to say its impossible. although 28 weeks later was enjoyable to see. it wasnt as horrible as other mainstream movies ive seen in the theatres

I didn't think I was going to like 300 but downloaded it off of X-Box Live and actually liked it - and yes, the cinematography in it is unique and awesome.

I'll admit, I've never heard of 28 Weeks Later and will have to check it out.
