    The FORUM is better!!

It is MUCH easier to navigate and to keep up with threads.

I really do not see the advantage of the Old School list.

But, because it is so popular I keep receiving the emails from the list.

If everybody from the List was here too, I'd say the Forum. I dig the format. But some of the real personalities that make the List what it is refuse to switch, prefering the email format. Wish we were all in one place.

I like 'em both, for different reasons. Plenty of room for both to exist. Personally, I really don't understand the "one or the other" mentality.

          I am on both.

I was a lister first because that is all there was.

The list has been correctly compared to a family. Not all is about Hawks.

The Forum is more just about Hawks.

Ahh well, my vote is obvious, since I created the forums. I used lists, about 12 years ago..but like the computers and technology I used at that time I have moved on to better things. (at least in my opinion)
I dont mind that the list is there, its a great source of information if you can find it. And the community there is top notch, everyone has always been great and helpful. Hawk forum is too new to have that type of community, but I think eventually we will. There are already lots of familiar names on here, it just takes time.
So, i like them both existing, I will just only use the one that fits me better.

I find the list extremely archaic. Hard to search for info and navigate. I can see why people like the list though, since it's a lot more personal than an internet forum. It also sucks to have to clean out my inbox regularly because of all the email from the list, 90% of it i don't even read.

I am on both as well and have gotten some good info from each. That being said, the amount of email I get is overwhelming at times. I have filters set up to eliminate NHC (no hawk content) messages as well as those of some of the more "chatty" members. Oh, also the Hawku poetry that was so prolific a while ago gets bounced before it hits my inbox. Even with those filters in place I still get tons of messages. But, they're all nice people and quick to help out so the list does have a good side. I wouldn't have discovered JD and had him work his tuning magic on my bike if it weren't for the list so I certainly can't complain.

Using a list when there's already a forum is like using a telegraph after the internet was invented. You're doing it for the sake of staying the course, with no advantages whatsoever. Hopefully they come over here, because if they're as helpful and talkative as you guys say they are, they'd be a great asset.

You should give the list a chance. It was here BEFORE the forum.(Thanks for the forum Soul)

It has it's uses. I do wish the listers would double up and come over here too. I am SURE some of them are lurking.

I've been lurking for a while now and haven't posted but here's my take. I am a Hawklister and prefer the list to a forum. I also own several other bikes and try to keep up with other owners/enthusiasts of those brands and models. As well as local forums and riders. The forum format takes up too much time to sift through thread subjects and then the threads themselves to make an informed reply. If I wasn't home from work today and bored I probably would have just let this thought go and not have shared it with you all. The email list is easy to just delete what you don't want to read or aren't interested in, depending on how you have your email browser set up and what list mode you're in. Digest mode is the worst! Not to mention this forum software package you guys are using isn't the most efficient or easiest to use to surf a forum format to follow a particular thread and/or contribute to it. Sorry but that's my take it isn't meant to be taken personally by anyone posting here or the administrators or moderators. There are other Hawk GT forums out there thatare easier to navigate.

I am glad you posted up Lifttruck. I too understand the draw of the list.

I don't find it difficult to follow threads on a forum, what I do find difficult is when people go off the original topic of the thread.

I will continue to be a lsiter because there are great people there with a wealth of info but it is quickly becoming my second choice as I am finding the info I want here or over at MABE racing

What other Hawk GT forums are there??

I chose the forum. It is about the HawkGT and not some of the other odd things that are discussed on the list.
