  • My Legal Issues (for anyone in the loop that's interested)

As most of my friends on here know, I'm not allowed to go into the state of Massachusetts.

I do not pass go, I g directly to jail.

It's been an inconvenience, but not a terrible one. So I have been putting it off... For 4 years.

Well, last week I got myself a lawyer, I tip toed across the state, into Lowell and I went to court to turn myself in.

As my lawyer promised (which they very rarely do) I walked out of the court room Thursday afternoon. I'm now free to go into that state again, and free to go about getting my driver's license back. For someone who drives a lot and never stopped driving, that's a big amount stress off my shoulders.

I have a pre-trial hearing mid February where hopefully we can work out a plea that involves little to no time "off of work" and the ability to keep my (hopefully freshly restored) drivers license.

There have been a few of you guys on here who have advised me to stop putting this off and deal with it. Well, in 2022 it will be dealt with.

Weird post for the forum I know... But also easier than trying to text or PM all my friends on here who know about this situation.

Love you all. Happy New Year!

It will be worth it. MANY years ago I lost my license. I had every moving violation except for DUI. I should have a road in Snohomish County named after me the amount money I put into the system. My wife (girlfriend at the time) was very understanding and helped me get thru the shit.

It was such a relief. Cost some $$$ (basically me paying my remaining fines), but worth it.

Luckily this was before elaborate mandatory expensive re-education classes. Think I had to do a short defensive driving course that was like $40 or something.

I know this is more than just losing your license... good luck.

When I lost my license a few years ago, 2015 I think.. there where 9 events that put me over the 7 event limit for suspension...

In the endless wisdom of the state of Massachusetts I had to take the driver re-training class 9 TIMES! 9!! Oh, and at like $125 a pop or something.

Ya, that was great. 69Falcon helped get me in the space to deal with it, and I did it.

Every day, for two weeks, I took the same 8 hour drivers re-training class.. that I couldn't drive to.

I'm like listen, if you guys are saying that I went down rt-1 at an average speed so high that your police couldn't catch up, then maybe it's them that you should be re-training,not me.

But I did it, got it back, and have not lost it for moving violations since. This time it was criminal court i skipped out on, so they suspended me until I cleared the default and answered the charges.

Congrats on getting your legal issues on the road to being behind you.

I've had one 100mph+ ticket in my life and it haunted me the same as a DUI conviction for 7 years.
To make matters worse, during that 7 years I couldn't get more than one additional point on my license or I would lose it due to me having a commercial license.
The point totals are much lower for suspension with a CDL.
And just so you guys here know, yes, I was on my Hawk going wide open when I was pulled over.
I looked down and I was at an indicated 122mph ( I know the Hawk speedo is optimistic in that range ) so I knew I was going to get a nice fat ticket or have both me and the bike taken to jail.

Good luck with you legal issues and I hope everything resolves itself smoothly.

We have had our differences, but we are both a member of this community, so there is a bond there at least.

If you ever wanted to hash them out, I'm open to it, but not here in public and I'm very bad at wording things in a way that is not offensive, even when I don't mean to offend.

Well, a big step got completed Tuesday.

I got my mother fucking driver license back!!!

So assuming I make it though this court case without pleaing to somthing that involves a driver license suspension I'll be good to go there!

Those first few drives being legal are very nice. Enjoy and good luck in the future.

I did 1000 miles over the last three days. PA to western NH, to ma, to seacoast NH, to Maine, back to the beach, to southern MA, th n back to PA.

4 runner did great, but more so it was the least stressful rode I've done in 2.5 years.

I'm excited to get my truck put back together. I'm trying to order my new sub box, and I just got my door speakers and amp in. I be very happy to use it without worries that I'll draw police attention now.
