Dropped by a friends house recently. We were in the SouthBay Chapter of the Pantera Owners Club twenty plus years ago and used to flog our cars about Willow Springs and Button Willow on track days. This is his latest toy:
Yep! That’s an AC Cobra in the next stall. He acquired a Group 3 Pantera and has been putting it on the track somewhat regularly. But its the GT40 that I want to hear.

Here's a chap in England who bought a fire damage replica I think he said for 10 grand Lord knows what he put in afterwards it took him 10 years to complete it in his spare time while he was still working. Improved brakes improved transmission streetable carbs and the list goes on he's really made it quite a nice example even though it's not, an original when someone asks him if it's real he says oh yes it's real.
I'm sure he elaborates on the story after that.

SPA - Oh, I’m sure it isn’t an original GT40 and he didn’t posture it as such ... in fact, I think its a Superformance replica. But I’ve not seen one done as accurately as this car. Back in the late ‘70s, I had owned two GT40s by different manufacturers. Unfortunately, kit cars are for the most part, assembled by guys with low skills ... fit and finish is usually crap, nothing works right and in reality, they’re fiberglass coffins! One thing I can say about Superformance cars, the cars are completely assembled by the factory and are sold without engine or transmission. So the build quality is pretty good. This guy only uses it for track days and its shod with slicks. His AC, however, is real.

SPA - Once again, thanks for posting ... watched/ listened to whole thing although didn’t see the Porsche 917, I enjoyed the plethora of rallye, F1, enduro, even the drifters!

Porsche 917k 13:02 not a great sampling but I guess I know how those cars sound and it's just a familiar to me. If you really want a good sampling the movie Le mans is the shit!
If you have Amazon prime it's free to watch
