  • Shop, the cat.

It got cold out this year and at some point in November a door was opened and it to our heated shop comes a cat.

It never left. Doors have been left open, it has had many chances to leave, it chose to stay.

I got it food, water, found out where it was doing it's business (some spilled blasting media in a corner of the metal working area) and put a litter box there.

It seems to live up on the upper stairwell mostly and comes out to play after work ends. Every time I see him up and about it's after work.

Haven't yet got to touch it. Let's me get close but then that's the end. Hopefully soon. I need to catch it and get it fixed and get it's shots.

spring will show if it's a permanent addition to the shop or just a winter stowaway.

    Meet Shop, the cat.

He/she is a very handsome looking animal. Small. I'm not sure why so small. It may be young or may just be small. I don't know. It's interested in me, but not enough to actually approach me.

It will eventually come down out of the loft when it gets comfortable around you. Keep showing that you’re the one feeding it and cleaning the litter box.

Just be careful. Some feral cats will never let you touch them.

They are so fast when it comes to claws that you won't see it until blood is dripping on the floor.

It came out tonight. He was under the dune buggy, I went and dropped him some food like I've done every time i see it.

Kristen and i where there, stayed very still, he came out from under it and started rubbing himself on the tires, did a few circles around us then approached my had. He diditn actualy touch me, but he smelled me close enough that i feel like he did. I tried moving slow a couple times but i could tell he was gettin nervous.

We did that for 10-15 min. I feel like if i was willing to stay on the floor another half an houri could have pet him but figured ill let him sit and digest the fact that i didn't try to kill him and we will try again tomorrow.

He is fucking TINY, getting fat dude to all the food ive been giving him, but tinny. Smaller than Holstines, by a good bit. Dude is SMALL. 25% the sixe of Fuckin Larry

We are making some progress with Shop.

Yesterday I got to pet him, I picked him up but after a second he got scared and call it. Today I heald him, no problem.

Now everytime I come in to the shop he calls for me to come pet him but he won't come down until night time. He stays up there and makes me come to him.

Very nice cat. Oh, and he met D, they are now pals.
