So I can buy this Avalanche for 1000.

It's currently on the road. It "has an oil leak" and the interior is "rough"...

That's all I know about it, literally all I know. My buddy drives one, saw this in the parking lot at Home Depot and sparked up a conversation. Dude offered it up for $1000.

He can get it for me and get it to his house. Its 300 miles each way to go get it. So probably $300 in gas and a day at least to get it and drive it back.

Current owner is a contractor, he is buying a real pick-up truck to replace it.

I've been keeping my eye open for a flip. It's smart here to have something for sale at tax return time..

My friend just paid 5 digits for his. They can be worth money. The goal would not be to get that. Just to get enough to make it worth the time.

Ignoring the answer of "get more info" because I'm trying but I'm not sure I can get much more besides maybe the mileage, do you take the risk?

I wouldn't buy it unless I went to put my own eyes on it. Having a middle man, for me at least, has almost always went wrong. I say go to it and check it out. Then buy it. So you know exactly what the deal is. For all you know right now it might not even have a title. Or interior!

Hard to go too far wrong at that price, esp. if it is 4WD and doesn't need anything major. If it runs at all, it would probably go for at least $3k around my area and without engine and tranny problems probably x2 that.

Dan met the guy in a home Depot parking lot, dude offered it to him when he realized he was an enthusiast.. Dan passed the offer on to me knowing I'm looking for a flip.

I found an f150, 5.4 triton, 4 door, 4wd, no rust, perfect paint, perfect interior, no rust, maint logs since 30k miles... Cheap.

I got in touch with the dude and he was like "I'm just trying to give someone who needs a truck good deal on a truck. Put some positive karma out there... "

I was like fick... Then I'm not your guy, I'm just going to flip it but I applaud you trying to do that.

Too bad, that truck would have went for $7-$9k easy. Could have got it for $4. I just can't be that much of a scum bag.
