  • When you call your lawyer....

For the fifth time in 5 days and you hear "the voicemail box is full and can not accept messages at this time......"

That's not stressful at all. When this man is in charge of working out what happens with the next 2.5 years of your life.

Listen, lawyers, doctors, prosecutors, cops and judges, these people routinely deal with situations that drastically impact the rest of peoples lives. But they do it so much that they get cavalier about it. Just another day, case, patient, diagnosis, sentence, set of charges...

I get it.. I do it in my job and life. But the impact is less.. telling someone their computers will be up and down for the rest of the week has an impact. To me it's just what it is. But that's just inconvenience, and maybe a little bit of money.

In these life changing events. When you tell a 34 year old woman she will never go on a hike again because you spent 20 min in the last three months thinking about her..

if it was your mother, father, daughter, neighbor, would you answer the phone? Have a little more tenacity in solving the problem? A little more compassion and understanding when dealing with people?

    It's frustrating!

These jobs are endlessly important and hard. The people in them are undervalued and stretched to the limit. But man...

That is just plain unprofessional. Any Lawyer that does not have a phone service or can't manage their messages is considerably lacking. Hope they are better at Lawyering than they are at communicating, for your sake.

    Good luck.

Already come pretty far with this one. We have been through three court dates and already have a tentative "offer" on the table.. the jist of which I know, but the details of which I'm trying to find out but "The voicemail box is full" so, idk.

I totally have a love hate relationship with my lawyer. I call, leave a message, then 2 weeks later get a call back. I feel like a google search and figuring out how to file paperwork would cost less and net equal results at times...
88 Blue Hawk GT - Under construction but rideable (guest approved)
89 BlackHawk 2.0 - On the lift and being assembled
90 Hawk GT (color as to yet be determined) - Still on the shelf in crates

I got smashed off my KTM the day before Halloween, 2020. I am still working with/against my attorney to get my case to arbitration with the other party's insurer, which is the necessary first step before going to court.

It is immensely frustrating just how stilted the process is, and can only imagine how much worse it would be if it had been my only vehicle that I needed to make a living, rather than just a toy.

I am fortunate to be able to manage without being compensated immediately for its loss, even if I am still forced to maintain insurance on what's left if it - but I can't fix it before the other insurance company has had a chance to accept (or not) our appraisal of needed repairs. What a waste of time and money...
