The Yamaha started life as a 1984 RZ350 which ended up with NSR250 forks and brakes, CBR600F2 wheels, F2 rear sets, FZ600 swingarm, R6 rear shock, TL1000 cooling fan, SV650 headlightt mount, and I forget the rest of the donors but somewhere there is a Kawaski part.
It is a 350cc two-stroke twin (more or less a Banshee motor with power-valves and strret legal) that weights in about 315lbs and around 60hp at rear wheel.
That CB350 is clean! I love it. That handlebar is sick! - it really adds to the bike. I had a CB360 but it didnt look anywhere near that nice. that would also be the bike i got my first and last exhaust burn on.
That pic is SOOOOO awesome! I'm not quite sure I could shrink myself up enough to ride one with a clubman bar.
77 XS650- owned from new to 05 by Brother Pete on the Hawklist:
Skorpion and BMW packed up and ready to go to WI for a NCHR.We thought it'd be funny to ride singles a longassed way...it sounded a whole bunch better at home than it did in WI pondering the ride home.Yeah, that's a Duc ST in the garage- why take something like that on a tour? Rediculous idea
VF500 Batcycle. It was my Halloween costume one year
82 Maxim 400: bought it in 99 off a farmer in BFE for $500. ebay helped clean it up and resold it for $1000. This bike got my feet wet in riding and repair.
04 Honda Rebel 250: bought it in fall of 04 on a whim at a salvage yard, had 37 miles on it an was dropped in the drive way, all it needed was a dent removed from the tank and a new steering stop welded on. (cost $1500 for the bike - $200 in repairs - sold for $2200)
Felt like a "tool" on the rebel... dang thing was so small to ride... felt like I needed to get off it and push it up a hills... called it my motor-scooter when i was around my riding buddies at work and one of them was the owner of my hawk...
Sold both bikes durning the 05 riding season and waited... Was looking for either a SV650 or a Hawk... I had 2700 bones to play with and just could not find a local SV any where close to it. Hit up my co-worker about his Hawk... planted the seed in his head... he had bought the Hawk on a whim and wanted to get some dirt bikes for his kids... so we struck a deal and now I have my fun toy...
