Isn't this the same crowd who calls the CBR1000rr slow and old? Gino......cbr900 cbr929 954.......all the same.I4 pseudo racers.Never bought into sportbikes for the street.
I rode Charlie's RSV4 a tad.Useless on the street.Never get it out of 3rd.That's boring.Slow bike Fast. I like the Hawk.Wring the piss out of it.

You know, I used to feel the same way - but putting in multi-hour rides on a Hawk definitely changed my mind about bigger bikes. Riding the Blue Ridge was sweet on the Hawk. Riding to the Blue Ridge on the Hawk sucked though...

Now I live in the land of ruler straight roads. My distance between curves has grown, so some weather protection and top end power are actually a thing.

As for the I-4, it used to be a ubiquitous sportbike sound of my youth, but it is actually dying. You don't even see many teens on 600s anymore. All the high end toys these days are Twins, V4s or Crossplane. That vacuum cleaner rev-whoosh of the old I-4s is not a rare a 2-stroke shriek yet, but it is definitely not as common as it once was.

Riot, you and I agree on a lot.It was more my father's disapproval than mine.I totally agree that 1000cc's on the street is the ultimate.I miss my 919,soulless I4 that it was.Torque for days....
power wheelies at 90.Clip-on position is as comfortable as sand in your shorts.I like a big standard.Seriously craving the CB1000r.....turnkey and plush.

A modern tail and new paint would make a huge difference on the old beast.

Because like Madonna, she might have been something to brag about back in '95 - but now she's kinof saggy and old.

                                Seeking tips:
                                • Shock rebuild advice
                                • Replacement bodywork
                                • Engine technicians
                                • Things to look out for

She needs some love, but is basically sound. $2500 = the cheapest way to 11sec 1/4 mile ever in any case!

In other news I have a minty mint mint SXV550 with a fresh Noland TWC rebuild for sale....
But like Madonna it wouldn't not stoping me from taking it for a ride and loving every second. And you can still see enough of it's former glorry shining through that it's as special as can be (and it's purple yo)

One of my bucket list bikes, but I want the ripped wing one. Nice riot.
Don't spend money and buy, spend time and learn.
