    89 FZR750......still makes me clench.

      Not the crank - like valvesprings and stuff. Only know of it secondhand. One guy sent his old R6 for an overhaul, it just needed a gasket kit and fluids for reassembly - everything was in spec. At the same time he sent his new R1 for a valvecheck (just to be sure) and it needed complete teardown, lots of new parts and he was lucky that it didn't fail while riding... several riders have had engine problems on those. But other bikes have similar issues, eg. Honda CBR1000RR cranks, 3rd gear, cam sensor etc. These are all track only bikes.

          Build quality slipping around the edges.
