  • CT70s? WTF?

Can anyone explain to me why I am seeing old CT70s listed for thousands of dollars everywhere all of the sudden?

Bid for the chance to own a No Reserve: 28-Years-Owned 1970 Honda CT70H Trail at auction with Bring a Trailer, the home of the best vintage and classic cars online. Lot #63,635.

This listing on BAT went for $9500!

I have bee seeing them everywhere listed for $4-5k. What the hell is going on? What makes a CT70 so great?

I'm not saying that what is going on with pricing isn't crazy, but if you have to ask that question, you just don't understand. They are ridiculously cool and fun.

That is a first year 4 speed manual, CT70HK0, with 900 miles on it.

I mean yeah, I *think* I get it. But so is a Grom. Hard to imagine paying 3-4x!

Admittedly there was also a $50k CRR900RR on BAT not long ago. Are Chinese investors buying up all the bikes and cars like Crypto and Real estate now?

Groms are cool and all, but you wanna bet which one gets a crowd around it when they both show up?

Unrelated: Is it easier to just list which motorcycles you don't own?

              Huh?

ohhhhh..... hah! Yeah I guess. My buddy was over last night. "I count 29 bikes I can see in this room, and those are just the ones on the floor."

If you think bike prices are getting crazy the prices of vehicles at the Mecum Auction Kissimmee this past week were at the same level.

Nostalgia isn't cheap, and Neo-hippies aren't helping the situation. But the neo-hippies can piss off cause they're just gonna destroy all these things being idiots and all

                    IDK man.

Like cb750's i bought and sold those little hondas a bunch for bubble gum money. Now i look at prices and think what the hell!

My dad warned me, then didn't.

He told me he wished he held on it one of his 65 mustangs, or his boss 302 or his 55 Chevy that he sold for between $25 and $200. He said it all the time.

He also told me that he can't see that happening with today's "cheap" cars. No one is ever going to want my 89 gta or my supra turbo or my 300zx. No one cares about those cars enough to ever collect them.

Today most of my cars would be worth $10k easy. Maybe some a good a bit more.

So word of advice kids. Go buy a Nissan rouge or a Toyota matrix. Then may be worth $60,000 when it's time to send your kids to college.

Even though I do sell some stuff, I've repeatedly told my wife and family, "I don't ever want to say, 'I wish I never sold that'".

Our Suburban is the only thing that gets close. I know it was the right decision, but if I had a good barn or warehouse, it would be parked there. Just couldn't justify letting it rot in the elements while it didn't get driven often and I whittled away at the systems that needed "attention" (read: $$$$).

People pay stupid money for nostalgia and convenience of having something they don't have to restore.
88 Blue Hawk GT - Under construction but rideable (guest approved)
89 BlackHawk 2.0 - On the lift and being assembled
90 Hawk GT (color as to yet be determined) - Still on the shelf in crates

This is the one I sold. One owner (me). 1999 K2500 LT 7.4L 4X4. Not even a door ding in it.

I'm looking very hard in all our salvage yards. I want to rip those seats out of a suburban, or a loaded Silverado, or a Tahoe, or out of one of the other vehicles they came in.

I need them in my truck !
