I'll tell ya, my company pays for my gas... It's been a beniifit, but every time prices go up it's like I get a raise.
I think at this point including benefits I'm making about $2.4m a year with current gas prices..
But for real. My truck is averaging 7.4mpg right now. A good bit of thy is plowing, off road, fields, and working it. So that's probably not my around town milage, but I'm guessing it's somewhere around 9/10 for on road use... This is getting ridiculous.

Holy fuck ... I just ran across this nasty bit of inhumanity

I LOVE when the news "expert" comes on to give some mind-blowing useful idea to help. Things you never would have thought of to stop someone from stealing your gas..
INSANE next level original ideas like "if you have a garage park in it."
that lady is the next Elon Musk. I'll tell ya.
Jesus Christ people.
Is this what we are still doing?
"Can lettuce give you cancer? The answer might surprise you! Tonight at 6 only on ____ news."
And how do you get the gas can UNDER the car? My truck is tall. Let me see you fit a 5 gallon can with funnel under my 22 gallon tank...
Ok, I just went and tried it. The can will fit, but not with a funnel. So basically you can steal my gas but inefficiently. If you have a slightly lifted 2500/3500 or similar height truck on 32" tires, then maybe watch out.. I'd still argue with an angle grinder it may be easier to take the whole tank vs drilling it.. two straps and the lines.
No one is drilling holes in civic tanks and actually capturing that gas in any useable way... Well.. if you see dude running around with a slim drain pan, with gas sloshing out of it keep an eye on that guy...
Don't know what you US people are moaning about. Petrol/Gasoline in the UK is approximately $8.50 a US gallon that's nearly twice the average price in the US. If we have to pay a bit extra to turn the screw on Vladimir Putin and his fascist bully boys then I will take the hit and accept it

If your car got 9mpg you may feel more strongly about it. Especially when you live 60 miles from work like a lot of people out here do.
I remember living over in England. There where girls that would come home with guys pretending they wanted to sleep with the airmen. They would come, get on base to fill up their car at the base pumps that charged u.s. prices, then go home.
You guys have it rough, but your better set up to deal with it over there. We are very used to using a lot of gas. A lot of people set their finances bassed on how much gas they need a week. When it doubles, it can hurt.
Luckily I'm not in that situation... But I can empathize.

That's about the sum of it here. £1.77 a litre for diesel - I use a 330d touring with 200bhp, but currently I'm being a bit light footed on the throttle.
We shot ourselves in the arse twenty years ago by agreeing to buy oil and gas (real gas) from a corrupt dictatorship because we were muppets that thought cheap was good. Right now id gleefully pay £2 a litre if that extra 23 pence went towards missiles aimed directly at putin.
