  • V4Dreams.com Master Cylinder sight glass

I Tried one of these out recently from Joe Nelson at V4Dreams.com.

My M/C sight glass was wasted and starting to leak.

The fit of the part was perfect. There were good instructions included and installation went very well.

The hardest part is applying the clear silicone adhesive. I found if you screw it up it wipes off pretty easily to try again.

I have not had long term use yet, but I installed one on my 86 VF500F 4 months ago and it looks great with no leaks.

Installed glass with old glass next to it. Crystal clear. Just note that the new glass is plastic and MUCH thinner than the Honda OEM glass.

IMG_0290.JPG The adhesive it used. IT IS NOT the normal clear RTV you see out there. It must say adhesive on the label as there is a difference. It was not easy to find this stuff I found out after going to several auto part stores.

Great find. I have a couple MCs with hazy windows so I will likely give this a try. Thanks for the heads up and review.

thinner and plastic and held in by soft glue so might it be more prone to possible failure ?

Yes.....This is an unknown right now. They seem to be holding on the VF500F after 4 months, but as for UV damage I do not know.

I keep the bikes indoors so UV damage will not be an issue for me.

I got some cheap ones off amazon a while back and have been meaning to do it. Pretty soon going to blast my controls and recoat them with Cerakote and that will probably be the icing on the cake.
88 Blue Hawk GT - Under construction but rideable (guest approved)
89 BlackHawk 2.0 - On the lift and being assembled
90 Hawk GT (color as to yet be determined) - Still on the shelf in crates

I saw those and almost ordered them. I was unsure of the size as there is a spread of sizes on the Nissin M/C's sight glasses. The guy at V4Dreams knew his shit about sizes and so I went that way.

How’s the sight glass holding up? I need to do mine soon as it’s pretty hazed over from age/weather. I don’t believe my 89 was garage kept for most of its life but it will be from now on!!

They are holding up fine on both the Hawk and the VF500F I have. Look like brand new still and no leaks.
