    5th Place!

I got fifth in my first ULWSB race at Blackhawk Farms!

Unfortunately, there were only five bikes entered in ULWSB.

I did beat one of the LWSS we were running with, and I was in fourth for maybe two laps when I got ahead of a GS500 for a little bit. The field was really thin since it rained up until the races started. The track dried pretty quickly though.

Both of the other local Hawk guys have switched to other bikes, Paul (ponley on this here board) got an SV and Scott moved on to a Duc. Another friend who ran a FZR 400 last year is not racing due to wanting to buy a house. ...so this is kind of reminding me of the year I was in Cross Country in high school, even though I was last in every race, there weren't enough people to fill the Varsity team so I lettered anyway.

                  Yeah yeah! Come out here!
Blackhawk is a fun track, there's a couple dangerous spots, and some peeps wont race there, but it's not like those speedway walls. Also, lots of trees and the added fun of watching out for wildlife. I've seen deer a couple times.

Or come out for the Road America race.... looooooooong straights, it's a fast track, but you get plenty of time to relax between corners. I still had fun on the Hawk there.

interesting thought... load up the ami trailer? personally i'd prefer a tighter track, but if one is hours closer than the other i'd go to that one first

Hmmm... I smell a ROAD TRIP!

What is your race schedule Sock?

How much are the entry fees and such?

Is there practice days before the race days?

What class do you run in?

                      Which is closer to Boston?

Or we can wait and all meet up at Mid Ohio?

Blackhawk is the smaller, tighter track, closer to Boston, and has practice on Friday before the race. There's also more race weekends there as opposed to only one at Road America. South Beloit isn't really a gleaming metropolis, (the motels are a little scary, Beloit just North is a little nicer) but we camp at the track anyway. Lots of good peeps around. Usually multiple campfires going and lots of BSing.

                        Schedule:
                        June 9-10 Blackhawk Farms Raceway
July 6-8 Road America Road America Festival of Speed USGPRU
                        July 28-29 Blackhawk Farms Raceway
                        Aug 18-19 Blackhawk Farms Raceway
                        Sept 15-16 Blackhawk Farms Raceway

                        Fees:

Y'all kind of have your own thing going on out there, but LRRS is still CCS right? I think the fees are all about the same. ULWSB is combined AM/EX, and we don't have the Novice thing at all, either yellow AM or white EX plate with black numbers... but for scoring we're lumped together:

(waaaaay at the bottom of the page)

I think practice all day Friday is $90? Except at Road America. No practice the day before unless you sign up for the NESBA track day.

Here's a video of some laps around BHF:
A few Laps around BHF on the line with Slider-Jack.

eerrr.... 1 thing just occured to me... do you have to run belly-pans out there?

speaking of belly pans.. what are you guys using???

im not into the whole turkey baster thing. when I raced my old hawk I had a nice fiberglass one from a guy int eh SE that made them for a while (will someone or another, really into SRX's if I recall correctly).

I don't have any bodywork for the bike but want to take it out and race it a bit this year. go beat up on the SV's out there..

any suggestions or anyone have one around that they want to trade for spares? or need any SV spares??

                            Jeff

No Belly pan at Loudon, not required for the Hawk.

So if we go we need Yellow plates with black numbers?

                              Yes LRRS is CCS.
