    The Chicken Back on Track

July 2-3 I was at Mid-Ohio with some other Hawk/etc friends for STT track days. As near as I can remember, I haven't had my Hawk on track since a one-off race in 2003, and 2000 before that? It was a really good time. I went out for 3 sessions on the Hawk and it was like striking up a conversation with an old friend, right where we left off. Even though the bike is radically different than it was then! Everything felt great and I even managed to get a few traffic-free laps, where I ran my old race-pace without pushing all that hard. Unfortunately, the fun ended when my on/off toggle switch failed internally. Fortunately, I had my Triumph 675 along and continued to enjoy that thing immensely.

I'm planning on hitting some more track days this summer and fall... can't wait!

i raced the cb 350 round that track in '05 at the ahrma vintage days and loved it!

too far away for me now, but someday, i'd love to get the hawk round that track. the keyhole (?) was a turn that almost sent me off the rumble strip, but i loved every minute of it.

congrats for getting back out on the hawk.
