Help me decide on a race tail.

I am trying to decide which of my tails looks best.

Keep in mind that I have to fab up some brackets (fiberglass the holes on the stock 600rr) and paint them too.

I used the rr tail on my bike with a good bit of fiberglass work. As soon as I get it painted and mounted I'll post up some pics. Hopefully it will be in about a week

I think that the 600RR looks better.

I always fancied the RC51 (SP1 here in the UK), but having seen your photos, it now looks a bit big.

Show us some photos when you get it done and good luck

            nice front end

            I like the 51.

You may want to try to get the seat angle and hight up a bit. OR ELSE you lege will be spent on the first lap...

Yeah I need a new subframe.

Do you know of anyone that makes them?

              Cost?

I agree to both. I was thinking of trying the RC tail when I make my new subframe this winter. Now I know what it will look like Thanks.

I also think the seat hight should be raised.

Also Pm'ed you as not to threadjack

                    1. too angled

                    2. too flat

Set it up approximately so the ridge on the side of the tail follows the angle of the bottom of the tank...

RC51 tail looks enormous for the stock Hawk tank. I wouldn't consider it without a tank conversion to go with it.

The 600 tail looks just so slick, but I have one problem with it unless you trim the front part down. Check this out:

It's Nikola Tsanko's Hawk from the hawkgt.com photo album. One of my favorites, except you really have got to trim that front part of the cowl and fiberglass it a little to get it shaped right. When it protrudes past the tank like that it just looks wrong, very do-it-yourself when it could look very professional and custom otherwise.

I'd go with the 600 tail, just get ready with a hacksaw and some fiberglass.

Well that 600rr tail does look good! I think I will try both. I mean what the heck it is a long winter.

I just don't know how I am gonna mount them....

Here is a pic or two of what I did. It took lots of cutting and fiberglass work, but I'm still not finished.
                              [/img]

I used the 600rr seat as well, with a stock subframe that I cut all up and rewelded like I needed.
