    Scitsu Tach Configuration

    Howdy Hawkers!

Who know what the "Sparks Per Rev" is for the HawkGT? I'm confused by this chart and my Koso failed me at Laguna, so I'm looking into a Scitsu.

Here's what is on Scitsu's site.
    White 1 spark per 2 revs ( e.g. single 4 stroke )
    Red 1 spark per rev ( e.g. single 2 stroke )
    Blue 2 sparks per rev (e.g. 4 cylinder 4 stroke )
    Green 3 sparks per rev (e.g. 3 cylinder 2 stroke )
    .
Orange 3 sparks per 2 revs (4 stroke triple)
Brown 1 spark per rev (uneven) (Some V twins e.g 45 degree crank)
    .
Yellow 1 spark per 2 revs (Magneto 4 stroke single)
Black 1 spark per rev (Magneto 4 stroke twin)

The Hawk has 2 individual pulse coils mounted directly to the crankshaft output, so provided you only use the signal from one of the coils, you’ll want 1 spark per crankshaft rev.

What’s really confusing is why are there 3 options for 1 spark per rev? Remember your tach normally records crankshaft revolutions, not combustion events (which is 1/2 of reported RPM) on a 4 stroke.

As far as I know, the only way to get 1 spark per 2 rev is points mounted on the camshaft or a cam sensor (or at least, a pretty modern ecu). Most old school bikes just have a ‘wasted spark’ for the non combustion stroke.

I wrote them to ask for clarity, but I have yet to hear back.

They aren't known for their customer service. Nice tachos though. I'm pretty sure on my trail tech it's set for 0.5 ppr.. I may be remembering wrong though. I'm sure someone can chime in with the right answer..

You want WHITE and take signal off the front coil.
