I Got a Call (to go racing)

Phone rang at 9:30 pm. In my world that means something went wrong that I need to fix. Grab the phone and see Jason (ex-pro hockey player turned Speedway promoter) and think "weird" he is calling now.. love Jason to death but he isn't the type of guy that calls just to say hi. Pretty busy dude.

"I'm having an ice event, we are racing inside at the (some hockey teams stadium. I don't remember), is your bike running? "

"No, but it can be.."

"If I give you ice tires will you come race?"

"Buddie, I'll race a motorcycle anywhere, any time on anything."

"Awesome, let me know if you need anything to get it running.. I'll get you ice tires."

And just like that, in a couple weeks I'm racing Speedway, on ice, in a large area, for the first time ever.

I have absolutely no idea how this is going to work, who I'm going to be racing, or even if you slide or grip these things on ice. Do I need my metal boot plate on ice?? Dunno. But we will find out soon.

I'm curious who it is that backed out that made him call me but as long as they are not hurt or sick, I'm glad.

Hope to hell there is some practice time...

I think I'll watch some YouTube ice racing this week...
