  • Fairing fitment

Wondering what you guys do for fitment. Do you fit the fairing and customize/chop exhaust or chop up fairing to fit everything. I'm leaning towards chopping the exhaust up a little. Its rubbing on the bottom near the collector and already has a wrinkle from previous owner downing bike.

I take some rashed or otherwise unwanted bodywork and alter it to conform with whatever exhaust I am running. I used to use a Sharkskinz kit with a Two Bros exhaust. However, when I switched to an M4 the Sharkskinz lower wouldn't work so I had to get creative.

I have the Airtech fairing - I cut the right side to match the left. For some reason, the left side has a large cutout for the exhaust, which is on the right side of the bike...

I know, they just copied the old TBR fairing and that bike had a left exit pipe. Still, almost as if they (Airtech) never really thought about it... My Fein multitool with a decent abrasive blade did a great cut on the fiberglass and gelcoat - can't even see that it didn't come that way.

That might be to accommodate a Two Bros exhaust that snakes to the left of the bike (front cylinder) before joining the rear pipe under the bike (right side exit) and was popular back in the day.
