I almost got one of these this past summer but did some research and was told it was a poor bike to ride.

    Nice to look at though.

I have sorta coveted that bike. Saw a pristine one go for around $3500 at the bike auction during Daytona bike week last year. How much for the one you saw Doc?

It was over in Plattsburgh. Sw it on Craigslist. I don't remember exactly how much but it was under $1000 and in pretty good shape.

If you passed up a GB in good condition for under a grand, you missed a daggum good opportunity for a quick flip.

They get compared to a Hawk or CB-1 because of when they were built but are very, very different bikes to ride.Don't think of them in the same way and they're cool- not to mention mad stylish.

Ones in good shape can easily get $3500-5k.

Yeah, if I saw one for 1,000 I would buy it on the spot.
My wife has been wanting one or a CB1 for a while. But she hasn't been riding her 400/4 much lately so I can't justify the going rates.
