    First Track Day

    I win

    Here's a video http://www.tgprace.com/TGPR-LapCCW.rm

Talladega GP in Munford AL. Track was a blast turns 1(the sweeper) and 3(the bowl) had loads of bank which was cool. There was a carousel turn (the 90's in the video) where I was able to pass a few slow turners

Almost forgot, look what showed up on Sunday

I thought for sure this guy had more money than skill and this bright red two wheeled monster dripping sexy all over the place would end up in pieces. Turns out he learned on an SV and was doing well out there.

      Nice! Looking pretty good.

We were at Grattan this weekend, and a guy showed up with a 1098 there as well. Sounds like there's a common theme with that bike - great bike, but the suspension is not what it should be. I didn't see the guy riding it, but he didn't break it, so that's good.

Also, X and I have the same suit, but in different colors.

NESBA wanted $50 a day to rent, Team Pro-motion who I'll be riding with at VIR next month wants $65 a day. I had a friend that said I could borrow these tatted AGV's or I could buy them for $150 since thats what he got them off of craigslist for! hmmm they're a little loose around the middle and tight in the crotch but I don't notice that when I'm wrapped around my Hawk. My only concern would be the loose leather around the middle and hips rolling up and causing a tumble if I were to go down. I think I'll buy them though, my buddy will get deployed before my next track day. After that if my addiction continues I'd like to get a tailored set from Sayed or Barnacle Bill or the like.

X has crashed his AGV suits multiple times, and they've held up really well.
Proper fitting leathers usually are a little tight in the crotch, and you can get them altered to take in that loose leather. Barnacle Bill should be able to do that for you. (Simple alterations like that are usually under $100). With the money you save, you can buy a nice pair of boots.

Noticed the taped up war on terror surplus eh? Gotta thank my buddy Ben for bringing those back from his second tour. He just picked up a Mille R track bike to match his Mille R street bike

That is a good one, and I felt like I was carrying mad cornerspeed for a Noob (in fact I'd say I was turning faster than 1/2 of the B group) One of the CR's said I should get an award for most improved after the 1st day. But what you dont see in the pic is after that turn all the big boys zip past on the straight

yea.. i was thinking that, just wasnt going to say it.
thats my problem with group riding around here.

they zip by on the straights... then hold me up in the corners.

Well, that's the fun of a loop on a track, big bikes blow right past you on the straight and then you spend your time on the twisty bits catching/passing them.

Unfortunately I seem to have lost some of my talent over the winter, as I wasn't able to catch anybody this weekend
