Ewwww.... all I like there is the red USD's and the slick pipes.
I've seen these eyesores before. Check the www.hawkgt.com archives for "spoked rims" and you'll find the place that makes them. It's just my opinion, but the Hawk is far too modern-looking a cafe racer to get the "Ton-Up-Boys" treatment. It's like fitting a springer front end with 7-inch stretch to a Hayabusa... the whole job just leaves you asking, "why?"
Leave the spokes for the Harley folks....
1988 "BlackHawk" project
1989 "RallyHawk" is Chuck's now!

I can't tell you how peaceful it is. Shinya Kimura
People who know ride Hawks. Riot
Lots of effort went ito that bike. Oil cooler and flush rear signals also look impressive.
Not to offend another Hawk owner, but i'm with Doug on this one. The spoke just dont seem to fit. As long as it pleases the builder, thats all that really matters.
-Nise to see uncommon mods though.
-I'm sorry....I did not know she was your sister.
-If Buckleys cold mixture went rancid......how would anybody know????
-Dont piss off the quiet guy with the chain saw.
I think that I have to agree with Doug also... the exhaust does look very nice though. That's about the fattest looking rear tire that I've ever seen on a Hawk.
Its a nice looking bike, but the rims just scream give me attention. I'm not down with that. Go red, black, or even a brushed aluminum would look so much better. But to each their own I guess.
90 Hawk. What can I do to make it better?
78 yz125. What can I do to destroy this thing?
Looking for a real cafe racer hawk, I came across this topic...
I find the bike's finish pretty ugly, but I have to disagree with
Douglas on the spoked rims... Look at the new classic duc's... I Love
the spoked rims... But this bike is way too loud! (as far as the colors go)
But since the listserver is down... who makes those rims??
1989 type I - F2 front end - Technoflex rear shock - K&N Filter - Dynojet kit - Braking Discs - Rizoma indicators - Rizoma mirrors - hiperform exhaust... hmmm what's next?!
some predict a return to spoke wheels for racing purposes...the damping qualities are very desireable
I like it!
And the new ones are super light! Keep that roll resitance to a minimum!
I must say I was never a fan of red and yellow together but hey I'm not riding it! The rims do look like some pretty sweet kit anyways!
There are three kinds of people in this world, those who can count, and those who can't.
