    Home made rear bike stand

    HI
Hears my home made bike stand. About $40.00 dollars worth of material including bearings. I wanna build a front stem stand but I have to come up with a good design first.

There is actually no weight on the wheels when in use, only when lifting the bike.

    Ahmed.

That's gotta be the most professional looking "homemade" stand I've ever seen. Nice work. I was expecting it to be a couple random pieces of rebar welded together.

                    Hi Everyone.
I wasn't expecting this much interest in this stand. When I made it, I was only planning on making it once, so it doesn't lend itself to being reproduced easily, I just threw it together using material I had sitting around, and then painted it Tremclad black. If you guys are truly interested in one, send me an PM with how much you would like to spend, and I will design one to meat the price point. I'm not looking to make a profit or anything, I just wanna know how much I could spend on each stand. The only large costs I can forsee would be trying to get it powder coated or cad plated. I don't know how the Tremclad would stand up to kerosene(chain cleaning), and the shipping costs, as most of you guys are in the States.

                    Thanks,
                    Ahmed.

BTW Tell me if you want any specific features added.

                      Hi
Hawkler had a great idea. If you guys wanna build your own stand. I can tell you what I did. You would need access to a lathe and a drill press or mill, preferably a mill. I am at work right now so will measure and post info when I get home. For Anyone that doesn't have access to a lathe and mill, I can make the bearing carrier and shaft for you, and then all you have to do is build the rest of the stand, and weld together. That way you can say you made it. (Worth more then money can buy.)
Do you guys have any specific questions

                      Thanks,
                      Ahmed.

Hmm... that would necessitate my learning to weld...

same here, doug. but again, how great of a skill would that be to add to the list of things you can do??? welders arent even that expensive considering what you can do with one.

THAT'S A GREAT IDEA PHANTOM! I can weld but have no access to a mill or lathe. If you could make the whole bearing system for me (the top part in the third pic), I could buiild the rest myself...let me know what you would want for it

Id, be game for the carrier also, can take care of the rest.
