Honda BROS / Hawk GT Full video road test on Youtube

Hello to all you Hawk / BROS owners

Just thought I'd post this up, I've now added the full road test on Youtube, follow the link below to watch it.

Nick Hine tests Honda's BROS. For full quality buy this DVD on Amazon now with worldwide shipping: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003HIC10O

Surprisingly few views so far, perhaps I've got my keywords wrong?

I've also got the road test for sale on a full quality DVD if you want one to keep. £3.97, available from our Ebay shop with free UK shipping and shipped world wide for £1.99.

Apologies if I seem a little harsh about the forks, they spoil an otherwise brilliant bike. Let me know what you think?

Anyway, please watch the Youtube video and spread the word.

Kind regards and thanks very much.

    Nick Hine

      LOL!!!

      Pound your Goolies!!!

Agreed, the suspension sucks! F4i front and an Ohlins rear cured that.

If you think the 400 was good you should try the 650.

What were the rim sizes again?

Already had a 650 since filming, thought it was great, again apart from the suspension.

Just sold it so I can make a series of generic technical videos, I've decided I need a sportsbike to do the filming, especially the suspension setup video we've planned. We're doing:

        Clutch replacement
        Wheel bearing replacement
        Headstock bearing replacement
        MOT preparation
        Caliper rebuild
        Suspension setup
        Brake pad replacement
        Servicing

There will be more too. They'll be available individually on DVD for £3.97 and as soon as the series is complete on a full DVD which will be about £15.00

If you can think of any other topics you'd like to see covered let me know.

They'll start appearing from January next year.

        Kind regards

I think it is great that you guys in the UK do bike repair vids. I can never find any here in the US

          These Generic topics are good.
          Clutch replacement
          Wheel bearing replacement
          Headstock bearing replacement
          MOT preparation
          Caliper rebuild
          Suspension setup
          Brake pad replacement
          Servicing

You might want to post this in the Mechanical/ Technical area.

I a swapping the heads on my bike... That might be a good one, or cam timing, valve adjustments, carb rebuild....

Thanks for the idea's the valve timing and possibly carb rebuild one might come later. We have to keep them fairly generic to try and allow us to make a living (eventually at least). The good news is we do sell all over the world already, by download and DVD so when we've got something you're interested in you chaps in the U.S. should at least be able to get hold of them.

            Kind regards

Another good general topic: winter preperation. Unless your one of the lucky ones that can ride year round.
90 Hawk. What can I do to make it better?
78 yz125. What can I do to destroy this thing?

It's funny you should say that, we've just done a Winterize your bike video. It's on Youtube here:

This short clip is taken from the '3x Bike Essentials' DVD available from DrivenandRidden.com.

And to buy on DVD here:

                  World wide shipping is £1.99

Great minds think alike and all that!

                  Regards

Just saw the video and I can say that what is described there , is accurate at least regarding the 400 cc version . The front forks are weak and I have been thinking of changing them for since i bought it .One thing tha I should mention is the the original Honda exhaust which I think is the same for both 400 and 650 models .
Although it's beautiful and has a nice V2 sound in fact it's very heavy . I noticed that when I took it off because it had holes from the previous owner and i had gone rusted from the inside . Once I placed a JMCA exhaust and pipes I saw a total recall regarding consumption . Before turning it to reserve (9lt), it would last about 145 km in traffic and up to 170 touring . Those figures changed to 170 and 200 km with the JMCA . I bought this excaust from a friend , previous owner of a Bros 400 who warned me about the change in consumption I was about to see . To be honest when I took the old exhaust off I placed KN air filter which may helped the motor to breath better .
Back to topic , good review Nick , always nice to see hawks running even on youtube

                    Keep up the good work
